No one who works in or with the media can deny that the way the public get information is changing. Radio & TV stations are running on the bare minimum of staff and in some cases journalists are working for a number of stations at the same time (that's the wonders of modern technology for you!)

However, it does mean that journalists aren't as able to get out and about to events and launches as much as they have in the past. That's why Four Monkeys Media wants to give you (and them) a helping hand when it comes to getting your story to the media fast and the easiest way is by using an Electronic Press Kit.

The aim of the EPK is make your press release stand out. Even if you are targeting print-based media, journalists will find the EPK an interesting and distinctive approach. It gives them something to listen to at their leisure, it is compelling, and they can use it as a reference - almost as though it was their own interview.

Our standard package includes:

• An audio version of your press release (rewritten if necessary to make it voice-over friendly)
• An interview conducted with the spokesperson mentioned in the release
• A raw edit of the interview (with minimal editing of any obvious mistakes)
• A fit-for-broadcast edit of the interview (taking the best bits to provide a concise interview)
• A selection of sound-bites (short clips that can be inserted into radio news bulletins)

Audio is provided to you electronically via e-mail so you can easily write to your own CDs or publish on your website for download. Fees are for production services only and do not include distribution of your EPK or on-line hosting.

What is an audio press kit?
An electronic press kit (or EPK) is a collection of audio/video which provides journalists with additional resources to help cover your story. The traditional method of distributing an EPK is via dvd, but can also be circulated as mp3/mpg files electronically, attached to emails and made available as a website download.

What can I do with my APK?
You can use the EPK to obtain coverage on Broadcast Radio and Internet Radio services; on Newspaper websites, on Podcasts, as a feature on your website, circulate it as an email attachment, use it for the opening to a presentation - the possibilities are numerous.
