David has been talking about travel for over 20 years. Working across print, online, broadcast and social media. His print features appear frequently in national newspapers in the UK and Ireland and his own popular travel site sees visitors from around the world. He has been a contributor to some of the biggest Travel programmes in the USA and Australia for 10 years. In 2012, he created Ireland’s first travel podcast, Travelbites Radio. The existing 107 episodes (or elements of then) have been broadcast on 25 radio stations in the UK, Ireland and France.
Recently, David’s work has been featured in the internationally renowned Essentially America magazine, the Sunday Post, Around the World Radio, RTE Radio One and the Irish Examiner. David is also a prolific content creator and has been commissioned by tourist authorities, such as Visit Scotland and Tourism Ireland.
In January 2019, he was named Travelwriter of the Year (Northern Ireland) by the Irish Tourism industry.
During 2019, David was appointed by Affordable Car & Motorhome Rentals to create content for their websites and social media. This included developing driving itineraries and destination profiles. The connection was extended to include management of corporate social media accounts and Public Relations activities in the UK and Ireland.
Also in late 2019, David acted as Script Consultant for the BBC programme, Getaways, writing in-vision and voiceover scripts for the on-location productions.
David also developed a series of content creation workshops, primarily related to Travelwriting and Podcasting, which were delivered in the Crescent Arts Centre, Cinemagic, Northern Regional College and North Down Scout Centre
David has been working with Bauer Media Northern Ireland (Downtown Radio, Cool FM and Downtown Country) since January 2015. He has presented programmes on all three stations, was the “station voice” for Downtown Radio for 3 years and is currently the late night voice of the station, presenting the Late Lounge on Monday to Thursday evenings.
